Permanent Hair Reduction
Permanent Hair Reduction
Some hair is immediately vaporized at the time of the procedure, but most often the hair falls out over the course of the next week. Frequently, permanent hair reduction causes very mild swelling of the skin, a slight redness or itchiness which feels like a light sunburn lasting only a few days. No sun exposure for 72 hours after treatments and avoidance of direct sunlight is recommended for six weeks after treatment.
The hair remains in the follicle for 1-3 weeks after the treatment. You will continue to shave as often as needed to assist the hair in shedding or falling out of the follicle. Throughout the treatments, there is absolutely NO waxing, tweezing, depilatory creams (Nair), threading or bleaching. Once the hair falls out, you will experience a period of time when there is little to no hair growth…this is when you will fall in love with Laser Hair Removal. In approximately 3-4 weeks of being hair free, the hair cycle back into the active stage and you will have new hair growth. THIS IS NORMAL, and you are now ready for the next treatment. Only come in for treatments when there is re-growth.
Before coming in for your treatment, you should
- Shave the area 24 hrs before the treatment
- Stop spray tanning one week before
- No sun exposure for a minimum of 2 weeks
Numbing cream is an option to reduce any sensitivity. You can purchase the numbing cream, take it home with you and apply 30 min before your treatment or you can come in our office and use our numbing cream. This means you will have to come into the office 30-45 min before your scheduled treatment and let the receptionist know you would like to numb.
